Castle View Residential Home is seeking to recruit part time Care Assistant to provide care and support for older adults and older adults with dementia in a residential setting. You will be required to carry out duties to support residents in a dignified/respectful manner, promoting independence and wellbeing. You will also carry out domestic duties as determined by the manager e.g. laundry.
Experience of working with older people would be beneficial although not essential. You must have knowledge of the principles that underpin quality care e.g. dignity and choice. You must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, possess clear understanding of the sensitive and confidential nature of the post and be courteous and responsive to the needs of individuals.
You will need to comply with statutory procedures e.g. Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales (CSSIW) and Directorate policies and procedures e.g. medication, managing absence etc.
Applicants should be in receipt of, or working towards, QCF Level 2 in Care (previously known as NVQ Level 2 Care) and have the ability to work flexibly including weekends and bank holidays.
