River of Light Parade
The River of Light Lantern workshops and parade is the perfect way to welcome Santa this Christmas. The River of Light is the longest running Christmas event organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council and returns annually to spread joy and festive cheer to residents and visitors alike. River of Light Parade The annual lantern parade will take place on Thursday 19th December at 6:30pm. The parade will start from the Caerphilly Railway Station park & ride and then make its descent down to Caerphilly town, through Station Terrace, Cardiff Road, across St Fagans Street and to its finale on Crescent Road. The free parade will finish with a beautiful fireworks display over the skies of Caerphilly Castle. Come along and enjoy a magical evening with the family, showing off your lantern as you prepare to welcome Santa.

Blackwood Lantern Parade / Carol Concert
The Lantern Parade will be taking place on Thursday 5th December at 7pm at the Market Place, Blackwood (please congregate by approx 6:45pm) followed by Carol Concert at Blackwood Methodist Church featuring Mynyddislwyn Male Voice Choir, Oakdale Silver Band and BlackwoodJunior & Libanus Schools Choirs followed by free refreshments. Blackwood Christmas Market
Blackwood Christmas Market is now entering its fourth year with the last three years proving to be a great success. There will be market stalls, animal displays, carol singing. Street entertainment and craft activities for all the family. See the town centre come to life with stalls along the high street, funfair rides and traditional entertainment. SENGHENYDD MEMORIAL CONCERT
Monday 14th October will mark the 100th anniversary of the Senghenydd Mining Disaster which killed 440 people in the UK’s worst ever mining tragedy. Join Boyd Clack, Mark Llewelyn Evans, Dan and Laura Curtis, Jamie Pugh, SERIN, Tom Crow and the Caerphilly Community Chorus and Children’s Choir for this special concert in aid of the Welsh National Mining Memorial.
